Krueger's Fine Meat and Smallgoods
Martin Krueger came to Australia from Berlin in the 1990s and bought a butcher shop on Colliver Street. He brought with him his skills and recipes to make outstanding German smallgoods such as creamy liverwurst and chunky bratwurst and specialties like succulent leberkäse and delicately-spiced black pudding. He has his own high-speed bowl cutter, making soft and melt-in-the-mouth mortadella and German-style smoked hot dogs.
Martin and his partner Emma buy whole carcasses of lamb and beef from local suppliers who source from local farmers, some just a few kilometres away. This is where to stock up on grass-fed lamb and beef, chorizo and kabana. Look out for their roasted and chilled porchetta too.
You’ll find their Krueger’s goods on the menu at Shepparton Brewery and Bill and Beats in Mooroopna. You can also find their smallgoods at Milawa Cheese and Cheshunt General Store.
